CNC Plasma & Oxy-Fuel Cutting for Heavy Plate

When the plate gets thick, we bring the right process. CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting deliver clean, square edges on heavy plate at a cost that makes sense.

CNC plasma and CNC oxy-fuel cutting
Materials
Carbon and low-alloy steel plate; stainless by plasma
Typical parts
Base plates, flanges, rings, lugs, gussets and heavy brackets

Bevels for weld prep available on request

Heavy base plates, lifting lugs, flanges and equipment parts are cut most economically with CNC plasma and oxy-fuel. Thick plate comes off clean enough to reduce secondary grinding before welding.

Need holes held to a tight tolerance? We can combine thermal cutting with drilling or laser cutting to hit the dimensions that matter.

Laser, plasma or oxy-fuel?

Choosing the right thermal process controls cost and quality:

  • Fiber laser: best precision and smallest features on sheet through medium plate.
  • Plasma: fast and economical on medium-to-thick plate with good edge quality.
  • Oxy-fuel: the go-to for very thick carbon steel plate and heavy structural parts.

Common applications

  • Column base plates
  • Flanges & rings
  • Lifting lugs & padeyes
  • Heavy gussets
  • Equipment wear parts
  • Blanks for plate rolling

Plasma & Oxy-Fuel Cutting FAQ

How thick can you cut?

Oxy-fuel cutting handles very thick carbon steel plate, well beyond the range of laser and plasma. Send your drawing with thickness and grade and we will confirm the best process.

Can you cut weld bevels?

Yes. Bevel edges for weld preparation can be specified on your drawing.

Where we deliver

We handle CNC plasma and oxy-fuel cutting for shops and job sites across Orange County, Los Angeles County, the Inland Empire, San Diego County and the Central Valley, and ship to projects nationwide, including Texas, Arizona and Nevada.
